This is not a full update, just a quick update as we have a request for some help (as usual – I know!). We want to give you all an update on Roscoe and all the other animals here, but right now this will just be brief to ask a favor.
Since our last update on June 3rd, the following dogs were adopted: Savannah, Samara, Lennie, Shelley (again), Hickory, Annabelle, Griffen, Hank (again), Geoffrey, Naomi, Clare, Roscoe, Lance, Sissy, Paula, Mia, Cookie, Optimus, Dusty (again) and two cats – Pepper and Nemo. Yes, two cats! Weeeeeee!

Here is the request – we are at the point that Maureen (one of our horses) needs to be put down very soon. We keep saying that, and she keeps rallying, but we need to get a backhoe over here, as morbid as that sounds. The other option is a rendering plant or the landfill. We don’t want that for Maureen. We have called around and gotten some prices for a backhoe to be brought here for the day and it is between $600-$800. Do you have a backhoe and a way to get it here? Can anyone come and prepare a hole for us sometime in the next few weeks? Thanks very much for your consideration. If you can help with us, please contact us.
We also got 65 cases of tile donated. We are now looking for someone to lay the tile. Is there ANYONE out there that has some experience in this and can help us lay tile? We have three rooms to do but would be happy to get just ONE done for now so we can move our office into a new room at the kennel. Please let us know if you can help us at all with this project.
Finally we are looking for a donation of “miles”. We have a wonderful artist that is willing to come out here and paint murals for us – happy murals on the wall here in the brick house or maybe even the kennel floor (we need to work out if that can be done). She is in Michigan and willing to come here, stay a number of days and do this for free. Now we need to get her here and home. Can anyone donate their frequent flyer miles to help us accomplish this?
Finally, our wonderful transporter retired. We had just pulled nineteen dogs from Tennessee that we need to get here to New York. Can anyone help with part of the journey? We need someone to go from Tennessee to South Carolina with the dogs. Then we have someone that will drive from South Carolina almost to New York but we need someone to drive about four or five hours toward South Carolina to meet her and bring the dogs the last leg of the journey. If you can drive and are willing to do a straight run (once you have the dogs there can be no stopping), please contact us. We have the van worked out and the dogs will already be IN it. You just need to help drive from any of these locations. Anyone?
