Giving Up Your Pet

Like every animal shelter, or sanctuary, Pets Alive has a limit as to how many dogs or cats we can take in. Maybe people have a need to surrender special needs animals as well and our staff and finances are limited as far as how many we can take. We'd love to help everyone and take in every animal in need, but obviously no place can do that. We review each surrender request on a case-by-case basis and take in the animals we feel we can work with, help, or can adopt out. We also have a number of what we call "lifers" which will probably live out their lives here at Pets Alive. Obviously we can only take in so many of those as well.

So in order to help you and to utilize our time as best we can we ask that if you need to surrender an animal you follow these simple directions.
