The Dog Kennel Transformation Project

In the spring of 2018, we started a campaign to raise money to begin renovations to our deteriorating dog kennel building. Many of you helped us raise $100,000, however, since that time, we have received several other large donations which enabled us to look at different alternatives. We are now Additionally, we have just been awarded a $500,000 grant from the the New York State Companion Animal Fund announced on March 23, 2020. We are pursuing building a new kennel, assuming town of Wallkill board approvals – keeping in mind our current maximum budget for this project.

Last year, we announced our plans to move forward with constructing a new dog kennel building to replace our rapidly deteriorating kennel building. We hired Shelter Planners of America, national experts in kennel design, to develop a needs assessment, which led to the creation of a conceptual design for the building.

We have created a site plan and are currently working with the town of Wallkill planning board for approval to move forward with the project. Here's a view of the conceptual design below (click on images to see larger version).
